Is it squirrel-proof?

After a lot of research and consultation, we’ve come to the conclusion that any attempt to prevent squirrels from visiting would be a futile task. Instead, we focused on making sure that the materials used will be able to withstand significant damage, which should prevent the squirrels from destroying the feeder itself. Right now our priorities lie in making sure that no harm could come to our feathered friends. We’ve shared some best humane practices to keep your squirrels away from your feeder here.

Is it squirrel-proof?

When will my order arrive?

We strive to provide you with accurate delivery estimates based on the availability of our products. Most items will be dispatched from our warehouse within 5 days. However, for products scheduled to arrive in October, we kindly ask for your patience as we ensure each order is carefully fulfilled. Rest assured, we are working diligently to get your feathered friends’ new treats to your doorstep as quickly as possible.

What are the camera specs? Can we see more example photos?

5MP with WDR (Wide Dynamic Range) and a 720p video stream. 720p mainly for battery life purposes, as the component will be able to output 1080p video as well. You can see some of our user’s photos here!

Does it need Wi-Fi to operate? Does it have local storage?

This version of Bird Buddy sadly does not have local storage, which means it does require a Wi-Fi connection. Once Bird Buddy is connected to your home Wi-Fi, it uses that connection to send the stream to your mobile device. We are looking into local storage options for the future versions of Bird Buddy. If you’re having trouble connecting your feeder to your Wi-Fi network, you may need to install a Wi-Fi extender to boost your signal into your backyard.

How do I connect my Bird Buddy?

Can more than one person connect to one Bird Buddy?

Sharing is caring! The Bird Buddy app allows you to share the experience with friends and family by adding up to three people to your feeder through the app.

How long does the battery last? How is it charged?

Depending on how many photos you take and how much you stream the video feed, the battery can last anywhere between 5 and 15 days. The electronic module is detachable and rechargeable via the USB-C cable that is included in the order. If you want to have the stream running constantly, you can plug Bird Buddy into a power source and never lose sight of just what is going on in your backyard. You can also decide to purchase the solar roof add-on for a continuous charge during daylight!

What should I do with the battery after it's dead?

Please take it to a proper recycling point! If in doubt about where to find one, please get in touch with your local municipal office or waste disposal service.

Do you ship worldwide?

Newly placed pre-orders can only be shipped to the US, Canada, European Union, UK, Norway and Switzerland. No worries, though: all existing pre-orders will be fulfilled as promised, regardless of the shipping destination. We are currently working on an affordable and effective solution for worldwide shipping of future orders, and hope to have a solution soon!

Is the app only in English, or are other languages available?

We will be translating the app into all major world languages! At the moment, our app is available in English (US), English (UK), German, French, Dutch, Italian, Spanish, and Slovenian.

Is Bird Buddy weatherproof? What are the operating temperatures?

Yes, the feeder itself is weatherproof! The central module that houses the camera will withstand temperatures ranging from -5°F to 120°F (-20°C to 50°C). It is also detachable so you can easily take it out and safely store it inside on extreme days.

What is your Refund Policy and Warranty?

We offer a 30-day refund policy from the day you receive your order. Our standard warranty period is 24 months from the date of delivery, and it applies to all of our products completely free of charge.
